Do you also hide your child's obesity

0

Doctors say obesity has serious health consequences, but parents can hardly see their children's obesity. A study of nearly 3,000 families in the UK found that only four parents had their children's obesity.  The medical journal found that 369 children were obese. Researchers in the British journal General Practice say that obesity has become a new norm in society.

Experts believe that this study estimates the 'excess' of the obesity epidemic. According to the National Child Measurement Program, one in five children under the age of six is obese, while 14% of them are overweight.  A team from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Great Armand Street Hospital gave a questionnaire to about 3,000 families asking if their children were obese or overweight or underweight or healthy.  Weight gain.

In response, 31% of parents underestimated their children's weight, while accurate tests showed that children were more likely to be obese. Russell Weiner, a professor at Great Armand Street, said modern parents do not recognize their children's obesity.  If parents do not recognize that their child is obese then how can they help them to gain a healthy weight.

In addition, it exacerbates the public health crisis. Chief Medical Officer Dame Sally Davies, in her annual report, pointed out that being overweight is becoming a new routine. Professor Weiner said that we need such methods.  What we can do is teach parents what size their baby should be when they have a baby and don't be afraid to talk to other parents about their concerns.

Commenting on the findings of the study, Shirley Kramer of the Royal Society for Public Health said that schooling should focus on a dynamic lifestyle and the importance and benefits of a healthy diet so that society can understand the relationship between diet and good health.  He said that parents are important role models for their children and it is important for them to be aware of all the factors that affect their health.  He said that limiting the promotion of junk food and labeling of food as good nutrition would help in spreading the message of good diet.
