Recommendations for breastfeeding:

Breast milk remains an excellent feeding option for children 6-24 months and older. Women with COVID-19 can continue to breastfeed their children if they wish. However, they should take care of respiratory hygiene while doing so, wearing a mask whenever possible, washing their hands before and after touching the baby, and repeatedly cleaning and disinfecting the surfaces they have touched. If they are not well enough to breastfeed due to the virus or other complications, mothers should be assisted in feeding their newborns with breast milk in the best possible way.

Food hygiene tips during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak:

While it is true that there is currently no evidence to associate food or food packaging with the transmission of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), it is possible for a person to become infected by touching a contaminated surface or object. by the virus and then touching your face. However, the risk is greater if you maintain direct contact with other people when shopping or receiving an order at home. As always, proper hygiene is important when handling food to prevent any illness it can cause.

Dispose of unnecessary containers:

Dispose of unnecessary containers in a covered waste container. Some containers, such as cans, can be cleaned with a disinfectant before opening or storing. Immediately afterwards, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use a hand sanitizer that contains alcohol.
Wash unwrapped products, such as fruit and vegetables, thoroughly under running water.

General food hygiene tips:
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before preparing any food.
  • Use separate boards to cut raw meat and fish.
  • Cook food to recommended temperatures.
  • If possible, keep perishable foods refrigerated or frozen, and pay attention to expiration dates.
  • Try to recycle or dispose of food waste and packaging in a hygienic and proper way, avoiding accumulations of garbage that can attract pests.
